In this 6 week course, you'll go beyond actionscript basics and explore the power of scripting and dot notation. This course will focus on objects, clip events, functons, variables, conditonal statements and user input.
Learning Objectives: The first lesson focuses on Action Script basics and lays the
groundwork for the remaining lessons. We will begin exploring the Movie Clip Object and
loading external files. Due to the amount of material covered in this lesson, exercises
are kept to a minimum. At the end of this lesson you will apply the exercises to using
Flash Navigation in an HTML-framed environment.
In the second lesson, we will explore in-depth the Movie Clip Object and related Actions
or Methods. You will learn how to move it and manipulate its properties with Action
Script. You will also have an opportunity to create and use a custom Color Object and
apply it to your Movie Clips. After completing 16 learning exercises you will put it all together into one movie controlled by Action Script. This lesson will also introduce planning for the flow of your movies.
In the final lesson of this class you will be introduced to Arrays and other built-in Objects, learn how to use Variables and how to structure Conditional Statements to loop actions. The Objects used include the Date and Math objects. You will also learn how to Troubleshoot your movies and use the Trace Action. After completing 5 learning exercises, you will have an opportunity to put it all together into one presentation.
