Corel Painter: Introduction to Brushes I
[148]
$30.00USD

Course Description
Corel Painter Introduction To Brushes I is the first online class of a two-part online course. The class has been divided into two courses due to the enormous amount of information contained in Painter's Brushes.

This is a MUST HAVE class if you wish to enhance your learning and delve further into Corel Painter to gain a better understanding of the brushes and media.

Painter Brushes are designed with real media in mind. For example: you can select a Variable Flat variant from the Oils Category from the Brush Selector bar, and your brush will react just like an oil brush on traditional canvas. The Brush Selector bar lets you can have quick access to all Brush Categories and Variants at your fingertips, beautiful Pastels, Digital Watercolour, Oils.

Some of Painter's great features is the creation of the RealBristle Brushes and Hard Media. The Variants that produce a natural movement of an artist's brush or pencil. This feature heightens the responsiveness of your brush in a totally new way. You can replicate the sensation and interaction between paint, canvas and brush. There's no other program that can let you experience this.

Requirements for this Painter Brushes 1 class is that you have a good understanding of Painter. Do not take the Painter I class in conjuction with this Painter Brushes I class - this can cause confusion and frustration.

If you have an older version of Painter, you can actively partake in this course too. However you will not have the availability of RealBristle and Hard Media brushes. The list below is just a selection of the areas that you will explore during the first six week session:
  • Creating and Saving Variants
  • Creating Your Own Textures & Painting with them
  • Digital Watercolour
  • Tinting and Scripts & Recording ... plus much, much more.

This is a 6 week, self-paced, online course. If you need additional help understanding the material presented, you can communicate with the instructor and fellow classmates. Course Recommendation

Painter has been optimized to integrate seamlessly with a Graphics (pressure sensitive) tablet such as the inexpensive Wacom Bamboo, or the multi-featured Wacom Intuos. Although you can use the program with a mouse, you will find many of the features to be most effective with a tablet. You may want to consider buying one at some point in time. There is initially a bit of a learning curve, but once you begin to use the tablet and pen in conjunction with Painter (and many other programs) you will be both amazed and excited by how real the painting and drawing effects seem as you work. Check out our academic resellers for discounts on hardware.

Course Reviews
Erin::
"I really appreciated learning a wide range of uses for many of the brushes and to use them in different capacities to achieve a finished painting. I never would have figured out the best brushes for painting, trees, sky, grass, blending, painting water etc. without the guidance. Now I know how to use brushes in combination to complete a painting, and I am not so overwhelmed with the selection anymore."
